So last year, my best got strangely jealous that I spent the fourth with a boy and not her. So, I told her we would this year because plans with my current boy fell through–we were going to stay in ocean shores. My boy also doesn’t have a car, so he was going with whatever his friend was doing, so I figured I would just see him the next day. Thus, the bestfriend and I decided to go down to the lake where they were going to have a big fireworks show. Amazingly, my boy said he was going to go there as well! However, I didn’t realize he was going to leave so soon, and my best was the one driving and kept delaying us from getting there. Finally, when I did get there, he had to leave and we couldn’t find each other… and it was all fucked up. I spent my fourth of july, despite being with my friends that joined us later, feeling shitty and misunderstood because he thought I was playing games with him.
Why would I do that?
I ended up realizing it was a stupid idea to throw the entire day to waste, so I perked up and we had fun. The fireworks show was great, but it was so damn freezing. Somebody started making a weird beat while we were walking back to the car, and I just busted out singing Sexual Healing. It was great :] Haha. We all decided to fire off some more fireworks while driving–kind of a scary experience… until we found a park where we could set them off without getting in any trouble!
So we parked the car and lit them off. Ran into some shady kids… got stalked by shady folk trying to sell us something at 2 in the AM. Then decided to go back to the car.
This was when my friend realized he no longer had his keys… He locked them in the trunk. But, he usually leaves his sunroof open because apparently he locks himself out regularly, but other people were setting off fireworks that were showing down all around us so I told him to close the sunroof out of precaution. Also, my bestfriend was the one that closed the trunk because nobody knew the keys were in there… so it was kind of ALL of our faults. Haha.
We walk all the way back to my bestfriend’s house… in the dark… in the ghetto… at 3 AM. It was hilarious though, not too scary. We had to drive to the guy’s house to wake up his parents and get the spare key, then find the place where we left his prized car in the ghetto, then drive back to my best’s house. All the while, I was having conversations with my boy on how the whole deal earlier in the day was a huge misunderstanding.
We were about to break up, but then we decided we’ll hang out later in the afternoon and talk… What an eventful day.
